LALAL.AI is a stem separation service. You upload a song, choose which part you want, such as vocals, drums, bass, acoustic or electric guitar, piano or synths, and it returns that part and the rest of the mix as separate files. It also has tools to remove background noise and echo from voice recordings.
Bands use it to make karaoke or backing tracks, to pull a vocal for a remix, or to rescue a part from an old live recording where the multitracks are gone. You work in the browser or in its desktop apps, and you can preview a result before you process the whole file. How clean the result sounds depends on the source: a well recorded studio track separates better than a phone recording of a gig. As with any stem tool, using someone else's song in a release needs their permission.
